Improvements to the snowmaking system at Killington on Skyeburst Access, Gateway, Cruise Control, Upper Bittersweet and Falls Brook are scheduled, pending Act 250 approval. The rebuilding of compressor and pump units, mainline valve replacements and valve station rebuilds are underway. Of course, the normal leak testing and repair program continues under the normal maintenance schedule. A 4 person crew is spending the summer cutting back sapling growth on existing run edges. Annual Lift repair and maintenance is on going and run mowing has started . Numerous low energy use snowmaking guns are being purchased to reduce the resort's carbon gas footprint and the entire grooming fleet is being reconditioned. Many new tower, sign posts and hydrant pads are being replaced. We are replacing several fueling stations. Finally, an additional magic carpet lift is being install for ski school.

Skiingsnow, scooped by the Mt Times? WTF??? I think they've realized that boards such as this, and even the well mannered, genteel, AZ, are basically nitroglycerin, ready to blow up in your face at any moment. It can be done well, but requires a light touch, a thick skin, and 100% buy-in at the top. None of those things exist at Killington.

As for Mountain Times Extra, only matters if your parakeet weighs 500 pounds.

I would say because we love the mountain and the people. The owners are just transient at best - the mountain really belongs to mother nature/God.

Numbers are down, and mostly due to Non-Homeowners going elsewhere. My house is not connected to Killington so if things don't change and I don't work on the mountain, I will be skiing elsewhere soon as will many of the other previous loyal Killington regulars. A few good days further North with a longer season will be worth the loss of a few days of skiing.

We’re homeowners but have downgraded to blackout passes because we simply had to issue some sort of economic vote to management - however minor.

Like many others, the long season and dependable snowmaking (and possibly the party scene) originally drew us to Killington. I think other Vermont mountains, though smaller, have better terrain. The blackout pass will give us motivation to ski more elsewhere next season.

This seems exactly what Powdr wants from us - so in this case, a real win win.

This is another false choice: If you don't like POWDR, why ski at Killington? As a practical matter, I don't boycott every company whose business practices or decisions I disagree with. In the case of POWDR, I think they've done some things well, but many of their choices, in particular accentuating short term profits at the expense of achieving long term goals, are extremely foolish.

why keep going to K ,because its were i ski i like the mountain regardless of who is currently running the place ,owers come and go my alligence is to the area not the managers
