TTB predictions

Post by Inarvi »

It doesn't look like there will be much by the way of snow-making temps at the base elevation until at least next Wednesday, and http://www.snow-forecast.com/resorts/Ki ... n/6day/bot" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; seems to think not even then (which I think is strange as they are predicting 10 at the top Wed night).

I was kinda hoping for TTB by next weekend when the house I'm in opens for the season, but it doesn't seem promising. I did the walkway last year on the first weekend but I cant see doing the 4.5 hr drive from NYC again before GN/Lower Bunny is ready.

That "bottom" forecast isn't for KBL, it's for the bottom of Skyship on Route 4...elevation 1079'

My guess is that during this weekends cold weather, they will resurface the North Ridge area, and possible try to get GN open from the peak down to the glades. After the warm up in Monday and Tuesday, some real cold sets in starting Wednesday. At that time I expect them to go for top to bottom, and have it for next weekend. However, they may decide to be more aggressive.

Sunday River may go for top to bottom tonight, however their window is pretty small.

Yes, SR's window is a bit small but base is already laid down as can be seen here: http://www.skiesta.us/mountains/SkiEsta/WebCam.shtml" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Hopefully you all will get Great Northern into the glades soon, but they hadn't even started right off the gondi yet wednesday when I was up, nor is the lower connect done. They did get a base down on the middle however.

Sugarloaf is opening TTB this Saturday, perhaps on sunday if more snowmaking is required.

Does anyone know what kind of wet-bulb Kton waits for to blow at this time of the season. Do they blow in 27 wet-bulb once they already have those first North Ridge trails open or do they wait for 25? 22?
