that's what we "heard" tonite at the bar from a k employee. if indeed we get upper east fall and hopefully upper great northern down to the glades (so no down stairs), that would be a big improvement.

Not much is probably going to land where they want it tonight if it's anywhere as windy as my house.
Always good to have some snow in the trees!

I was at Cannon yesterday. They made some early efforts. Top down. Still snow. The moral of the story is K is not what they used to be. Very unfortunate. Very disappointing. I'll have to revaluate pass purchasing for 25/26 season.

theyve only had one small stretch of weather where snowmaking was plausible, and that was that mid october cold snap that only lasted a few days and then it went to the 70s. this is the second stretch, and guess what, theyre blowing. go complain to god about the weather, let him know ive got some complaints too.

Asher 10-4 will do. I call him every night. Cannon wasn't the only one to get a jump on things.

You have been giving the same song for the last 3 years but seem to keep getting a K pass.

Its possible. Lets face it. I like Killington. Spend a lot here. But since covid. They Suck. Sunday River spun before them. So they lost my vote. I wan't my money back for my pass. Longest season in the east is BS. :bull

for the most part looks like they were able to run all day. perhaps rime shut down. the app said 25 at the peak in the afternoon. with the wind and marginal temps not sure how much they got down. unfortunately temps do warm overnite with dripping overnite sunday.

looks like they can start back up sometime tuesday as temps drop throughout day and can run at least into thursday albeit in marginal temps. they could still be on track for the rumored thursday passholder open.

at this point a number of areas are also making snow. who opens first is anybody's call. k will be close but our competitive edge shrinks as we get further into november. certainly good news that they'll probably be no downstairs.

you can ask why they didn't change the usual NR thing and maybe try for snowdon first which would make us all happy. guessing they just feel the NR is more of a sure thing as opposed to rolling the dice on snowdon's lower elevation in very marginal conditions.

Do you really not think that come the third or fourth weekend of May that Killington won't have the most operating days within the 24-25 season?

You'd have to think okemo would be spinning by next weekend too. 1700' continuous vert and sans downloading

Okemo only made snow at the summit. I don't see them opening by the 15th.

Not going to place too much stock in the rumor mill. Snow making conditions aren’t great so hard to predict what they’ll get for production. A few degrees plus/minus will make a big difference. My assumption is they’re telling staff a date so those people can plan, but are prepared to push it back if Mother Nature doesn’t cooperate. Thursday, passholders? That’s a placeholder, not carved in stone, more like written in the sand. It’s all good. I appreciate the openness. See you day one, whenever it is.

I’ve heard from an unreliable source with no knowledge of the situation that the problems with the North Ridge Camera are because Killington does not want to tip their hat to the competition how close they are to opening.
