Last time a R-controlled Senate didn't confirm a Republican POTUS cabinet nomination was 1989 - John Tower for GHWB's Secretary of Defense.
On second thought, this could be a "loyalty test" for the Senate, to find out how far (or how low) he can push them to do his bidding.

Senate already failed that test with the majority leader pick.

Trump didn’t publicly support Scott so, no, not a test IMO.

Haven’t you learned yet? 95% of republicans are spineless and will fall in line.

I guess any faint hopes we had of this being a serious administration are out the window.

For real, you have a problem with Trump's selections when we just had this? Talk about a clown show, holy sh*t.

Can you point out what you think is wrong with these people you've highlighted? Despite appearances, they all have pretty strong resumes.

Did you know the person in the top right, Sam Brinton, is a nuclear engineer with a masters degree from MIT? And on the top left, Rachel Levine, is a Harvard/Tufts educated M.D. who served as Pennsylvania's physician general. Buttigieg went to Harvard, was a Rhodes scholar, became a navy officer who got deployed to Afghanistan, and served multiple terms as mayor of South Bend. Jean-Pierre has a masters in Public Relations from Columbia and has extensive press and public relations experience.

I can tell you in one sentence what is wrong with Gaetz - zero law enforcement/prosecutorial experience unless you count his time as a suspect. FFS He only practiced law for 3 years before entering politics.

Didn’t you hear? It’s now OK for racist homophobes to be out of the closet.

Ahhh the old sexist, homophobic, race card...didn't you get the memo, that one isn't working any more.

Listen, I’ve got to go now and let you guys whimper and whine amongst yourselves for the next 4 years. It’s been like Christmas Day every day since the election when Trump and the majority of Americans bitch slapped Kamala and the Democratic party in one of the most stunning, decisive, landslide victories in American history. It was nothing short of an absolute beatdown and the Dems have nobody to blame for it but themselves and their own ineptness.

But, I’m happy for old Joe, it’s good to see him smiling again. We haven’t seen him this happy in a very long time. Now he gets to ride off into the sunset and give Nancy and Obama and the like a great big EFF YOU on his way out the door. You go Joe!

I sincerely hope you have a great ski season. I have no problem with my Democratic friends, I used to be one of them. They are just misguided, misinformed, and manipulated.

Now Let it Snow!

Okay, I was really hoping you could give me at least one line as to why those folks you posted pictures of were problematic. I am giving you the benefit of the doubt that it's something other than homophobia.

The problem I have with many of Trump's appointees discussed above is their dramatic lack of experience. Noem, Stefanik, Zeldin, Gaetz - none of these folks have any experience in the fields to which they are being appointed. Two others, Rubio and Waltz, do have some relevant experience but it's pretty light. Contrast that with the folks you posted pictures of, each of whom had pretty strong resumes in their fields.

Shouldn't you be upset that your leader is looking to appoint incredibly inexperienced and unqualified people to his cabinet?

No. The whimpering and whining is the entire point. Leopards eating faces.

That really was a bit of cheap shot on my part and I honestly have no problem with any of them. They are all obviously highly qualified to do what they do and I honestly could not care less about anyone’s sexual orientation, their gender identification, or their race. We are all God’s children and that is how He created them. We are truly blessed to have diversity, what a boring world it we be if we were all the same. And truth be told, I’m not crazy about Trumps DOJ pick either. I actually like Mayor Pete and think that he would have been a much better candidate than Kamala.

Much respect to you, KFM.

I do not think Gaetz is going to make it. I'm hearing that the ethics committee in the house is going to make their report of the investigation into him available to the Senate. Even Gaetz' fellow GOP house members who are being asked about him are saying, it's up to the Senate.
