Would still have bear and skyeship to park at but would definitely suck early and late season. May tailgating on the access road is part of K's identity, hopefully they don't f that up.

Mike said RH and Snowshed parking is pretty much being moved down the access road a bit. Vale should stay the same. Yes I do suspect the village will make Bear and Skyeship bases busier (not really a bad thing, maybe full services will return 7 days a week etc).

Great Gulf now owns the Vale lots as well. Here is a picture off all the properties they own in town.

The good news is that Great Gulf is bringing in a new design team. Hopefully that means they’re scrapping the Hart Howerton designed village plan that was so objectionable to so many.

Originally, the village was designed so you could drive through it. Now they're switching to it being pedestrian traffic only.

Have you seen the buildings Safdie designs? It doesn't seem to mix with what they claim for the village vision... World renowned doesn't mean they understand Vermont. I guess time will tell.

The modern designs pictured are amazing. Hopefully similar goes up in village. The new age and business class and Asian rich man market is needed.

I for one welcome our new Safdie Architect overlords.

If they are just now hiring an Architect, I wouldn't expect to see any construction, other than preliminary sitework, until the Spring of 2025 at the earliest which means initial occupancy of the first units some time in 2026..again at the earliest and I would think that would be the absolute earliest. Wouldn't surprise me if it was considerably later than that depending on market conditions, how much the new Architect revamps the schematic design drawings done by the old architect which is all but a certainty, permitting issues, legal challenges, variances, etc., etc., etc.

Regardless, a lot of money is about to be spent on it in design and on the water system so it seems like this village might actually happen starting some time this decade.

Killington won’t necessarily fill the parcel to capacity, Haff said, but once municipal water reaches the plot — an estimated four years from now — the town can determine its workforce housing needs.

So it will be at least 4 years before anyone can move in based on the avaliablity of drinking water.

At the employee housing property, not the village.
