what's the steepest trail at killington?

Post by skiadikt »

since someone posted the question about how steep the ovation headwall is, i decided to take it a step further and see what people think is the steepest trail at killington. obviously there's nothing steeper than a cliff (fiddle etc), but the cliff is optional when you ski the fiddle. let's try to keep it to the trails themselves.

I voted for Vertigo headwall. As Skiadikt already stated the Ovation headwall is only steep for 2 or 3 turns. I think you make quite a few more turns on the Vertigo headwall.

My opinion.

The cliff area on DF.
The drop into the upper O headwall.
The drop from side of superpipe.
Vertigo headwall.
Lower O.
Of all the things I have lost, I miss my mind the most.

Killington says that Ovaton has the longest "sustained" pitch of all the trails.

I agree, there may be steeper, but for sustained pitch, I don't believe that you can beat Lower Ovation.

For challenge i would go for lower Ovation Headwall.
It can be intimidating, especially if it's icy.

We call that section the Decapitator because you get really close to the chair at one point. I don't think that section is steeper than Vertigo headwall.

Pretty much the same as Vert headwall. Cut the trees down in between and you are there....
